The Administrators of Color Cohort (Virtual)
Supporting administrators of color since 2019
As independent schools commit to diverse student bodies and faculties, we see school leadership becoming more racially diverse as well. However, predominantly white institutes do not always understand what we need to be supported and to grow. We welcome administrators of color at any stage of their journey for an intimate program of mutual support and training. You may be a Dean, Division Head, Admissions Director, DEI Practitioner, etc. The program will be facilitated by Susan Yao and Felicia McCrary, two experienced administrators of color and facilitators. We will help each other strategize for a successful year. Topics will include institutional culture, wellness, and navigating leadership as people of color. The program is specifically designed to give participants the tools they need to be effective change agents within their schools.

Year-round support.
The Institute program uses an intimate cohort model to take a deep dive into several leadership topics, designed to offer practical guidance to administrators of color. We will begin in the summer by thinking through how you will start your year, institutional culture and power, and setting goals.
We will then meet monthly throughout the school year to make sure you are supported in real time, alternating between group sessions and two on one coaching sessions.
Cost: $1500 for the school year
As a female of color in education, there have not been many mirrors for me. It is incredibly powerful to be in a space full of so many powerful leaders whose stories are unique and yet so familiar. Since our identities are both part of what drive us to do the work and raise questions within us and around us, being able to speak openly about our hopes, dreams, and yes, even fears, helped me gain a sense of belonging and inclusion that has not always been present.
